Police Officer - Entry Level

Written test offered multiple dates each month.
Physical test consists of a 2000 meter row on a Concept 2 rowing machine with the damper set to 5. Use the VO2 calculator below to find your target time. You must score 50% or higher to pass.
Once hired, you'll attend one of our local police academy classes before returning to participate in the field training program.
You'll enjoy every other weekend off on our patrol schedule. Department-issued equipment with a Glock 45 with a Trijicon Red Dot Sight, with the option to carry a personally owned Staccato. The CAD/RMS system is from Motorola Spillman, and the fleet consists of Chevy Tahoes and Ford Explorers. Your generous compensation package will include longevity/stability pay, educational incentive pay, fitness incentive program, on-duty fitness time and classes, and more!

Police Officer I & II

Starting Pay
Campus Officer I&II: $40.91- $46.02 per hour
Follow BISD School Calendar
Campus Officer I: 185-day schedule, TMRS, keep your retiree health insurance
Campus Officer II: 200-day schedule, TMRS, health insurance provided
Must be a Texas-licensed police officer with 2 years of prior service as a full-time paid police officer.
Enjoy a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:45 am - 3:45 pm, serving our elementary campuses! You'll have 10 PTO days in addition to Birdville ISD's school holidays. Connect with the students, staff, and administration by being a familiar face around campus, building strong relationships.
You'll receive opportunities to assist at events, open houses, and fairs to earn compensatory time, enjoy weekends and summers off, all department-issued equipment (with Glock 45 with Trijicon Red Dot Sight), TMRS 2-1 match, and your own workspace within the BISD campus.
Campus officer I & II positions are now qualified to receive pay commensurate with the departmental step plan and be topped out after two years.
