Training
Though each training process may vary, we want to share an idea of what to expect on your journey.

Both sworn and professional staff members will undergo in-house training, ranging from 16 to 20 weeks.

-
Entry-level officers will first attend one of two regional police academies for approximately 22-24 weeks. Upon completion and graduation, they will move into in-house training that involves a 16-week training program (consisting of in-service and field training).
-
Lateral-level officers will attend an in-house training that begins with four weeks of in-service training covering policies, procedures, and equipment. They will then move into a modified field training program.
-
Campus Officers will receive a 120-hour training program on policy and school observation.
-
Professional staff members will attend in-service training and then connect with their specific divisions for multi-week training assignments. For example, dispatchers undergo a 20-week training program.
